OpenSEO is a self-hosted application, but SEO data such as search volumes, backlinks, and rankings comes from the DataForSEO API, which you pay for with your own API key on a pay-as-you-go basis. Ahrefs runs its own web crawler and backlink index, which are proprietary, so expect different coverage and numbers, especially for backlinks.
