Closest to Axiom
SigNoz is an OpenTelemetry-native platform for metrics, traces, and logs. Grafana Loki indexes labels instead of full text to lower storage costs, and HyperDX unifies session replay, logs, traces, and metrics on ClickHouse.
Alternatives / Axiom
Looking for an open source Axiom alternative? We compared 8 open source observability platforms by license, OpenTelemetry support, and maintenance. SigNoz is the broadest, Loki is built for logs, and HyperDX, Coroot, and Uptrace add other angles.

We looked for open-source tools that store and query logs, traces, and metrics like Axiom. We verified each project's license, recent activity, stars, and self-hosting in its repository. See our methodology for the full criteria.
SigNoz is an OpenTelemetry-native platform for metrics, traces, and logs. Grafana Loki indexes labels instead of full text to lower storage costs, and HyperDX unifies session replay, logs, traces, and metrics on ClickHouse.
Coroot uses eBPF to collect telemetry with no code changes, and Uptrace is an OpenTelemetry platform with free self-hosting. OpenLLMetry covers LLM application tracing, and Logfire is a Python-focused tool from the Pydantic team whose SDK is open source.
Maple uses the Functional Source License (FSL-1.1), which is source available until it converts to Apache-2.0 after two years. SigNoz has enterprise directories. Logfire's platform is not open source, only its SDK.
HyperDX, SigNoz core, and Logfire SDK are MIT. OpenLLMetry and Coroot are Apache-2.0. Loki and Uptrace are AGPL-3.0.
All eight had commits within days or weeks of this update.
Axiom is a proprietary platform priced by ingest, with your telemetry stored in its cloud. Open-source stacks can be self-hosted at predictable cost, but you run storage and scaling yourself.
