We looked for open-source tools that overlap with HootSuite's core: scheduling and publishing posts across social networks from one calendar, with teams and analytics. We verified each project's license, recent activity, stars, and self-hosting in its repository. HootSuite also covers monitoring and listening, which none of these focus on, so we compare publishing and team features. See our methodology for the full criteria.
Postiz, Mixpost, and TryPost focus on scheduling, publishing, and analytics. They do not match HootSuite's social listening, brand monitoring, and ad management tools, so teams that depend on those need a separate tool.
Postiz is the closest in everyday use, with a calendar for 30+ networks, team collaboration, analytics, an API, and AI features, with managed plans from $29 a month for 5 channels. TryPost offers a similar calendar for 12 networks with approval flows and per-client workspaces for agencies, and Mixpost is a polished scheduler with white-labeling.
