1 Best Open Source Userflow Alternatives in 2026

Looking for an open source Userflow alternative? Only one open-source project we could verify replaces the full onboarding platform: Usertour. It builds product tours, checklists, and tooltips with a no-code builder and analytics, and part of its code is under an enterprise license.

How we chose these Userflow alternatives

We looked for open-source tools that replace Userflow's in-app onboarding: tours, tooltips, checklists, and targeting. We also looked at UserTourKit, a headless React tour library, but we could not find a public repository or working website for it, so we left it out. See our methodology for the full criteria.

Closest to Userflow

Usertour provides product tours, smart tooltips, progress checklists, custom themes, analytics, multi-language support, a no-code visual builder, and user segmentation. It is the closest open-source match to Userflow's feature set.

Important: enterprise-licensed code

Usertour's repository is mostly MIT, but source files in directories named enterprise or ee, and the code controlling plan, role, and feature enablement, are under a separate enterprise license. Review it before relying on every feature when self-hosting.

Why we show one project

A headless React tour library called UserTourKit exists, but we found no public GitHub repository or reachable website for it, so we did not include it. If you only need tours in a React app, a library may be enough.

Maintenance status

Usertour had a commit the day of this update and has over 2,300 stars.

Why look for a Userflow alternative?

Userflow is a proprietary SaaS priced by monthly active users, so costs grow with your user base, and its script runs inside your product. An open-source alternative can be self-hosted, keeps usage data on your infrastructure, and avoids per-user pricing, but it is a younger product with a smaller template and integration catalog.
